• National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia received A status based on accreditation from ICC SCA for the 3rd time

The NHRCM submits its 19th Report on Situation of Human Rights and Freedoms in Mongolia to the Parliament

On 30th March 2020, the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia tabled its 19th Report on Situation of Human Rights and Freedoms in Mongolia to the Parliament. Chief Commissioner Byambadorj Jamsran made a brief introduction of the report and presented it to Zandanshatar Gombojav, Speaker of the Parliament. In line with the Law of Mongolia on the National Human Rights Commission, the Commission produces and submits its report on situation of human rights and freedoms in the country to the Parliament within the first quarter of every year.

19th report for 2019 covers the following four topics: “Human rights situation of herder women: Their right to be free from violence, their sexual and reproductive health and rights and some issues related to their other rights”, “Implementation of the Law of Mongolia on the Promotion of Gender Equality”, “Some issues concerning handling and storing chemical hazards and toxic substances” and “International human rights index and Mongolian rank on performance”.

Under the Article 9 and 17 of the Law of Mongolia on the National Human Rights Commission, the Commission has put forwarded 23 recommendations for the Parliament consideration and resolution of its report and consequent recommendations.
