The National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia has been warning about possible tragic incidents that could happen in the course of horseracing especially in winter time and could result in serious bodily injury or even death among child jockeys.
Because there are cases of dozens of child jockeys have gravely injured, became disabled and some of them even lost their lives due to the horseracing. Thus, the Commission has been repeatedly urged the Government and Governor of each 21 provinces to consider these incidents and not to organize a horseracing during the cold weather, which is from November to May when the lands are frozen and slippery, and not to let children race as jockeys through its recommendation. Unfortunately, a 10-year-old boy lost his life during a horseracing rehearsal in January 2019.
The Commission has also submitted its recommendation to Governor of each 21 provinces in 2019 and urged people not to organize any horseracing in winter time.
