• National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia received A status based on accreditation from ICC SCA for the 3rd time

A working group spearheaded by the Chief Commissioner worked in Dornogovi province

The working group headed by Chief Commissioner Byambadorj Jamsran conducted a human rights inquiry into Dornogovi province from 14-19 January 2019.

The working group conducted an inquiry into quality and accessibility of medical care and services of Dornogovi province center hospital as well as implementation of the sexual and reproductive rights and health of girls and women with disabilities on January 14, 2019.

The purpose of this inquiry was to check the implementation of the right to medical care and services as guaranteed in national laws and international treaties as well as to deliver the Commission’s demands and recommendations to relevant authorities to ensure the implementation of the rights to sexual and reproductive health of girls and women with disabilities. In this way, the competent authorities will take necessary action. The Commission will carry out such an activity in health facilities throughout the year.

Chief Commissioner Byambadorj Jamsran have also conducted a monitoring on the implementation of the right to a safe and healthy environment of locals in Dalanjargalan and Airag soums of Dornogovi province, based on the complaints lodged by locals. Within the framework of ​​monitoring, the working group has conducted a monitoring on the activities of the mining companies operating in territory of these soums whether they are affecting the human rights and freedoms guaranteed by the domestic laws and international treaties, which ratified by Mongolia.
