Acting Chief Commissioner of the NHRCM delivers opening remarks for the virtual conference on "The death penalty for drug-related crimes during the COVlD-19 pandemic"

On 14 April 2021, Khunan Jargalsaikhan, Acting Chief Commissioner of the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia, delivered opening remarks for the virtual conference on “The death penalty for drug-related crimes during the COVlD-19 pandemic” organized by the Harm Reduction international NGO based in Vienna, Austria.

At the conference, which was attended by representatives of more than 150 countries, the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia shared Mongolia's best practices which were well received by the participants deeming that it set out a good example for the region.

The conference was organized on the occasion of the 64th session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs and was co-organized by the European Union, Australia, Canada, France, United Kingdom, New Zealand, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Reprieve NGO, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Embassy of Mongolia in the Republic of Austria.
