Commissioners meet with the representatives of the ILO Mongolia

Acting Chief Commissioner J.Khunan, Commissioners G.Narantuya, D.Sunjid, and B.Enkhbold, and Director Ch.Altangerel held online meeting with Mrs. P.Bolormaa, ILO National Coordinator, Mrs. A.Lhagvademberel, National Project Manager and Mrs. B.Bayartsetseg, administrative officer, and exchanged views on 6th of January 2020.

Mrs. P.Bolormaa congratulated new Commissioners on their appointments and wished best in their career ahead and introduced current projects being implemented in Mongolia by the ILO, including “SDG-aligned Budgeting to Transform Employment in Mongolia” and “Trade4 Decent work ”.

Commissioner J.Khunan expressed that NHRCM could cooperate on eliminating labour rights violations, monitoring the implementation of national laws and regulations and international treaties of Mongolia, business and human rights, training and advocacy activities by integrating them in the NHRCM 2021 Action Plan.

By ratifying the Convention 190 of ILO, Mongolia would expect some advancement in terms of addressing violence and harassment at workplace.

Parties agreed to cooperate in improving reporting mechanism of international conventions, broadening usage of international law and instruments in practice, monitoring implementation of recommendations provided by the ILO, with emphasis on rights of child jockeys and labour rights violation during COVID-19 pandemic as well as advocacy and promoting activities.
