On 26 January 2021, Commissoner Enkhbold Batzeveg and Altangerel Choijoo, Head of the Secretariat met Ganbaatar Sainkhuu, Member of Parliament, who was on hunger strike in Sukhbaatar Square regarding the Oyu Tolgoi issue.

The NHRCM was following-up the protest, which began on 25 January 2021, and received relevant information from the Emergency Office of the State Emergency Committee, the Police, and the Ministry of Health.

Although, freedom of expression is a fundamental human right, one should consider irrecoverable condition of his/her health; thus, opt for alternative way of exercising the right to freedom of expression, suggested Commissioner B.Enkhbold.
