Mongolian Women’s Federation branch members being trained as Human Rights trainers

NHRCM and Mongolian Women’s Federation signed Memorandum of Collaboration for a term of three years in 2018.

As new Commissioners of NHRCM were appointed recently, parties discussed continuity of “Empowering assistant herders through human rights training and herders’ self-help groups” project and pressing issues of women’s rights at their meeting on 14 December 2020. The meeting is attended by Acting Chief Commissioner J.Khunan, Commissioner Kh.Munkhzul and MWF President B.Oyungerel.

During the meeting, current activities and execution of cooperation plans were discussed, as well as a necessity to study human rights violations, conditions of livelihood of single parents and elders in a pandemic situation. The importance of conducting a research on the matter of accessibility of healthcare facilities for women and girls who live in countryside regarding their sexual and reproductive health was raised. Furthermore, both parties negotiated their efforts to boost result of Joint project on “Empowering assistant herders through human rights training and herders' self-help groups”.

It was noted that the online training seminar to become human rights trainer was commenced in 4 branches of MWF located in different aimags on 14 December 2020. Both parties expressed their interests in extending the project in the future.
