• National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia received A status based on accreditation from ICC SCA for the 3rd time

NHRCM is working together with fellow NHRIs in strengthening the APF (Asia-Pacific Forum) network

The National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia is a full member of the Asia-Pacific Forum (APF) of National Human Rights Institutions and the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI).

Therefore, NHRCM engages in promotion and protection of human rights, strengthening the network of independent monitoring institutions, and development of international law.

The Ombudsman of Turkmenistan, which was established in 2017, is seeking membership in the Asia-Pacific Forum of NHRIs and the GANHRI. The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Asia-Pacific Forum of NHRIs (APF), and the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia are working together to evaluate APF capacity assessment with the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan and to assess the status of independence and compliance with the UN Paris principles of the NHRIs.

On the 22nd of April, 2022, the APF held a virtual meeting to present the plan for capacity assessment of Office of Ombudsman for Human Rights in Turkmenistan and to views on the principles of operation of NHRIs.

Dr. Narantuya Ganbat, Commissioner of the NHRCM, is to work with an international team of experts and will visit Turkmenistan in October 2022.
