On 27 May 2021, Enkhbold Batzeveg, Commissioner of the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia, visited a special educational institution under the General Executive Agency of Court Decisions and got acquainted with the implementation of the rights of the children. Colonel B.Tamir, head of the General Executive Agency of Court Decisions, met with the Commissioner and exchanged views on current issues.
Human rights are being violated due to the fact that the premises of special educational institutions do not meet the operational requirements. For instance, issues such as walls of the building being cracked, collapsed, subsided as well as surface water, and the frozen soil are causing unrepairable damages. The right to live in a healthy and safe environment of the children and employees are being violated. Furthermore, this condition may affect quality of food and ventilation.
In addition, there is a need to address the violation of the right of the children due to inadequate legal coherence. Albeit the center's education program is functioning normally, there is a lack of support for their social adjustment after their release. This year the center is preparing 6 children for general admission test.
