The National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia and the General Election Commission have approved a cooperation plan to prevent human rights’ violations and ensure the right of citizens to elect and to be elected during the Presidential election of Mongolia in 2021.

Within this framework, parties are working on designing and developing information for target groups such as people isolated during the COVID-19 pandemic, people with disabilities, conscripts, people arrested with administrative and criminal charges, detainees and people living and working abroad.

On 21 April 2021, the GEC held meeting with representatives of governmental organizations, including the NHRCM, civil societies, political parties and coalitions on exchange of information regarding legal and regulatory issues of the election.
