Torture Prevention Ambassador organizes "Preventing torture”

Asia Pacific Forum of national human rights institutions and Association for the Prevention of Torture are jointly implementing torture prevention project titled “Torture Prevention Ambassadors” from 2014 to 2016.

In Mongolia Oyunchimeg Purev, Commissioner of the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia, and Agar-Erdene Gankhuyag, Head of Policy Analysis and Human Rights Education Division, have been selected as “Torture Prevention Ambassadors.” Within the scope of this project Commissioner Oyunchimeg Purev published compilation of “International law sources against torture and national reports and UN recommendations” for executives of the law enforcement organisations and public special servants and organized training on “Prevening torture” among them on 6 May 2015.
The training involved 100 participants including representatives of the General Police Department, Office of the State Prosecutor General, General Authority for Implementing Court Decisions, Ministry of Justice, and Law Enforcement University and covered the topics such as "International law sources against torture”, "Detention based investigation as a factor of torture: Some issues of compared criminal process”, "Preventing torture in torture procedure”, and "Situation of torture in Mongolia and national mechanism for preventing torture.”
