Website journalists to be trained in human rights

Acting Chief Commissioner J.Khunan held meeting with Mrs. L.Oyuntungalag, President of the Mongolian Website Association on 14 January 2021 and proposed human rights training for the purposes of decreasing human rights violations in cyberspace and preventing violations to be committed through social media.

Parties agreed to cooperate not only in human rights training but also in conducting joined inquiries and research, producing handbooks, protecting human rights and freedoms in cyberspace and developing child-friendly contents.

They further exchanged views on rights to information and freedom of expression, freedom of the press, legal regulation of human rights defenders and expressed their interests in collaborating on the selection process of human rights friendly website. It was also discussed on some website journalist joining “Journalist for Human Rights Club” of the NHRCM during the meeting.
